4th October 2012 Hector or Achilles? Hector and Achilles are both great warriors and great people but they are different. They are considered to be heroes, but they fight for different reasons. Troy is filled with many great warriors, but the most honorable hero is prince Hector. He shows great qualities of the archetypal hero and the contemporary hero, fight for his land and his family honor. Even though he’s not the strongest, he Just wanted peace, as an archetypal hero. Hectors quest is to fight for Troy and leads his soldiers to battle against the Greeks. He is a warrior of courage that fights for his country instead of fame and lorry.

He is honorable and more courageous as he is in many battles. “The fighting ebbed and swayed uncross the Trojan plain and many men fell in agony to the didst while their spirit started down the stony path to Hades” (page number) Achilles is angry at Agamemnon and Achilles withdrew Agamemnon troops. While this is happening, the Greeks get beaten by the Trojan.

Patrols – Achilles best friend – pretends to be Achilles and fights to make the Trojan scared. When Hector meets Patrols, he killed him and thought that he was Achilles. Achilles is mad when he hears that his best friend Patrols dies. Then Achilles returns to battle to take vengeance upon Hector. All of this trouble was caused because of Hectors brother- Paris but still he was ready to help him, protect him and fight for him. This shows how caring and protective he was. In the beginning, Hectors soldiers could have easily shot at Achilles with their bows but he said no because he wanted to fight him alone. He knew he had to fight against him no matter what the consequence. Hector put up a great fight against Achilles, even though Hector probably knew he was going to die he did not give up, and he sacrificed himself Just for Troy. Hector was very brave and like a heroic. Hector was a hero to this tight because to his bravely as en was courageous and secondly he was not afraid of any circumstances came in front of him during the fight.
