According to the narrator, none of the characters have knowledge of God or any type of religious figure.

So how would Beowulf refer to God if he does not know that there is actually a God? It Just demonstrates that the narrator wants to involve Christianity to his work even if he has to Juxtapose himself towards the reading. Out of the dark shadows the creature appears hungry for blood. As he reaches for one of Beowulf men and kills him in an instant. Beowulf watches patiently how Grenade kills his men. But why didn’t Beowulf stop Grenade from killing his men? Well they may be many answers to this question, but for sure there was a great motif in why he did this.

As Grenade approaches Beowulf, Beowulf was destine to complete his promise and give an end to this nightmare. He fought Grenade with all his strength. Even Grenade found himself surrounded by the incredibly power that Beowulf had. He could not imagine that such a human would pose such strength. “Every bone in his body quailed and recoiled, but he could not escape. ” Grenade had found his match and it was time for his end. They both fought hard but there could only be one winner in this fight. “The monsters whole body was in pain; a tremendous wound appeared on his shoulder.

Sinews split and the bone-lapping burst. ” In other words Beowulf rips Grenade’s arm leaving him wounded and having to die a painful death. Another feast was held for the victory of Beowulf. He was a hero to the Danes, now Beowulf was adorned with riches as the queen promise her word. The wall was adorned with Grenade’s arm like a form of a trophy. As the festivity ended and everyone started falling asleep vengeance was around the corner. Grenade’s mother wanted to revenge her son’s death. She went looking for Beowulf but instead she found the guards.

She was not as strong as Grenade but instead she took a hostage so she could bring Beowulf to her layer. “She had pounded and taken one of the retainers in a tight hold, then headed for the fen. ” Beowulf Jumps into the lake and swims down, where he encounters a underwater cave. Grenade mother’s was ready to kill Beowulf. Beowulf takes out his sword and starts fighting. But the sword did not harm her it was as if she was impenetrable, so he decided to wrestle with her. As they are fighting Beowulf finds a way to cut off Grenade’s mother head and kills her.

On the heat of the moment he sees the lifeless body of Grenade and decides to cut his head also as a form of a trophy. In the meanwhile the others waited in the other side of the lake. Giving up hope that Beowulf would come back alive, no one could be under the water for such a long period of time. For their surprise Beowulf arose from he water with his sword at his hand, carrying Grenade’s head that was melting the iron to the sword because to Grenade b Once again Beowulf NAS become victorious and another feast was held for him.

Warthogs offer him to become a king but Beowulf decides that is time to leave Denmark and return back home. With the promise that he would always protect the Danes and the king would have nothing to worry about. Beowulf and his men return to their kingdom the queen High the queen and the king Hegelian welcome them with great pleasure. They have come back victorious from their Journey. A slave escapes from his master and he decides to go to the cave and steal some of the dragon gold to buy his freedom without thinking of the consequences. The dragon went down to the village destroying everything in his way in search of his stolen treasure. It was time for Beowulf to defend his kingdom and be the hero again. He was not young no more so he need it reinforcements.

He order a shield and a sword to help him in his battle but that would not sure him that he would come out victorious. Beowulf leads his men and himself to the dragon lair. He encounters the dragon while his men went hiding fearful of the dragon. But there were only on kinsman that decided to stay next to Beowulf and that was Wigwag. During the battle Beowulf realizes that his armor would not help him in this battle and that this battle was going to be his last one. Both the dragon and Beowulf had mortal blows, where Beowulf was bitten and poison by the dragon.

Even though Beowulf fails, he was victorious by killing the dragon and saving his kingdom. Before dying Beowulf asks Wiggling show him the treasure he wanted to know what he was fighting and gave his life for. Beowulf told Wigwag to inherent the treasure because he stays with him until the end without caring what would happen. Again this is the sharing of goods, because sharing of goods is more valuable than hoarding goods. Wigwag comes out of the lair and announces the death of Beowulf. As the news goes around the enemies celebrate Beowulf death because now there is no one to block their entrance to the kingdom.

Wigwag decides that no one should keep the treasure that Beowulf fought for not even him. Beowulf should be the only one to stay with the treasure it was the most reasonable action to thank their king for his bravery. There was a ship burial where Beowulf was place with all the treasure and send out to the sea. He was a great king, as this quote emphasizes his leadership: “They said that of all the kings upon earth he was the man most gracious and fair minded kindest to his people and keenest to win fame. ” Beowulf poem was an interesting poem to read.

It gives the reader so any kinds of emotions even though Beowulf did not survive his last battle he was still victorious. By slaying the dragon and keeping his kingdom safe. The narrator gives different tones through the poem. But he was always courteous and the way Beowulf speaks is like a gentlemen. As the story keeps going the narrator shift to a different tone that becomes mournful and sadness surrounds the death. Even though Beowulf was a great and heroic hero, he had to come to end giving his life and becoming victorious and at the same time defeated by the poison of the dragon. But everything is left up to God to decide the destiny.
