“Third of May” and “Guernica” “Third of May” (1808) by Francisco Goya and “Guernica”(1937) by Pablo Picasso are both pieces of art in which the main purpose was to communicate an issue of concern from the artists that created them. Analyzing the two pieces of art is essential to understand the strong impact these painters had and still have on their audience. Unity is presented through the use of curvatures of lighter shades in the middle of dark colors establishes the point of emphasis on the painting. One of the focal points within the paintings is likely the bull like figure on the top left corner because the rest of the figures are looking towards it.

His believes that the world was turning into a violent place causing great devastation was captured into this amazing piece of art.
