Running wild
The reason why I choose this playlist of songs is because each of the songs represents a part of the story Running Wild. I put each song on my disc in chronological order from the beginning of the book to the end, so you could get a better sense of the emotions that the book had. Chris Richardson wrote the first song in the playlist Far Away. The reason I choose this song is because in the beginning of the book the young boy Will and his mother feel so far away from the earth because they have just lost their dad/husband while he was on tour in Iraq. The next song in the playlist is The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars, I think this song represents feelings in the story because after Will’s dad died, he started getting lazy and not doing what he was told by his mother, teachers, or grandparents. Number three on the list is Without You by Usher and this song is important because Will thinks that the only thing that he has is his mom and that causes him to get really attached to her. The forth song is called Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye and this contributes to the mood because Will moves with his mom to a remote part of Africa for a long vacation from their lives in the States. Will is feeling happy that he is saying goodbye to the States because he read a brochure and he saw that he could ride an elephant. Half way though the playlist we hit I Can’t Stop by Flux Pavilion and this is about when Will gets to go on an elephant ride and the elephant senses something and starts running towards the forest. A couple of seconds later Will sees this huge wave coming towards them and it’s about 150 feet tall! The elephant somehow manages to out run the wave but he doesn’t stop no matter how much Will tries to stop it. Hit number 6 is Too Closes by Alex Clare and this song matches the story line because it talks about the struggle that Will had trying to slow the elephant down so he could eat and drink. Number 7 is named Amazing and that is connected to the story…
