Piano recital critique
The Piano recital I saw with one of my friend who also takes piano class was on Wednesday October 9, 2013 in MU Hall at 8:30 pm. This is a student recital. The performer’s name is Hye Jin Cho. But actually there are two performers: a man and a women. I really enjoyed the whole recital and was impressed with the performers’ ability to play such a long and complex pieces.
The piece they played was Concerto in B major, K595, which originally played by Walfang Amadeus Mozart-one of the greatest musician in the world. The recital only includes one piece so the whole recital took about 1 hour. It has smaller movement within the piece, which were named Allegro, Larghetto, and Allegro. Allegro means fast and bright tempo. Larghetto stands for a fairly slow tempo. What I am really interesting in this show is that it is finished by collaboration of two person rather than a solo. That is amazing. The collaboration of the two performers is wonderful. And the music just makes me feel like so good.
Compared to these three movement, I like the second one most because it sounds more soft and peaceful. Most part of this movement are sounded-melody but meanwhile rhythmic effects are interspersed. And there are not so many notes being used here. The melody gave me the feeling of a peaceful country life or a romantic fairy tale. The two performers are so great in dividing works, perfectly playing this gentle movement.
Which movement I less enjoy is the first one. It is good but I may not a big fan of the melody of it. In this movement, piano uses to make song-like melody with a bright and a little fast tempo. It is faster than the second one but still the dynamic is soft and gentle. And it has several times that the tempo accelerates and the dynamic becomes a little bit violent. The two performers’ interpretation are good enough but I think they can have more expressions on their faces.
In the third movement, some melody have been…
